Aislinn Walters-Jakary is based out of Kansas City, Missouri and is widely recognized throughout the United States as an emerging performer and teacher of saxophone.

Her experience teaching, conducting, and adjudicating ranges from elementary school to the collegiate level. Aislinn has served five years on the faculty for the High Plains Music Camp in Hays, Kansas and recently served as the Ensemble Manager for the Greater Hartford Youth Wind Ensemble in West Hartford, Connecticut. She works regularly with local middle and high school programs in the Kansas City Metro area along with teaching private lessons.

As a founding member of the Event Horizon Duo, Aisilnn will be performing a world premiere at the 2023 World Saxophone Congress in Las Palmas, Spain.

She is an active member of the North American Saxophone Alliance and has attended and performed in multiple conferences and clinics across the country, including the 2021 Regional Conference, in which she presented three world premieres for saxophone quartet.

In 2020, Aislinn performed at the International Saxophone Symposium in Fairfax, Virginia as the alto saxophone soloist in the Penumbral Quartet. As a soloist, she was named the 2020 winner of the Music Teachers National Association Young Artist competition for the state of Connecticut.

She’s performed on multiple occasions at the Kansas Music Educators Association State Convention as a member of the FHSU Jazz Ensemble.

In addition to her experience as a solo and chamber musician, she marched in the 2014 United States Army All-American Marching Band.

Aislinn has studied with some of the nation’s finest saxophonists including Zachary Shemon, Carrie Koffman, Timothy McAllister, Otis Murphy, Chien-Kwan Lin, Kenneth Tse, Stephen Page, Robert Young and Steven Banks. She holds a master’s degree in Saxophone Performance from The Hartt School of Music and dual bachelor’s degrees in Music Education and Saxophone Performance from Fort Hays State University. She is currently pursuing an Artist’s Certification at the University of Kansas City – Missouri.
